2018 LOD GSM
This type of blend is common in many parts of the world. You will find similar blends in the Southern Rhone Valley of France, Australia and even Spain. Along with, of course, the newly formed Los Olivos District in Santa Barbara Wine Country. Australia coined the abbreviation GSM. This
is related to the dominant percentages of the blend. This particular blend is 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre. Grenache adds bright red fruit while Syrah adds blue fruit, color, depth and structure and Mourvedre adds complexity with forest floor and spice. This wine was aged in a combination of large 500L French oak puncheons and 228L Burgundy barrels for over 22 months. Enjoy this beautiful wine with a hearty steak, lamb or wild game.
