The John Sebastiano Vineyard is located on the the 246 Highway at the gateway to the Santa Rita Hills. It is planted to extreme hillsides and is wind swept. Because of the extremetiy of this site, it produduces a very small crop with beuatiful intensity.

Cabernet Sauvignon is arguably the most “famous” wine grape in the world! Is has been produced for centuries in Bordeaux and fetches over $1000 per bottle from many of the top Chateau’s. In the United States, cult Napa Valley Cabs also cost several hundreds of dollars per bottle! Recently Happy Canyon, the warmest area in Santa Barbara County, has started to rival some of these wines at a much lower price.

Pinot Noir is one of the most noble grape varietals in the world with the longest history in Burgundy. The Zotovich Vineyard is one of the leading sites in the Santa Rita Hills! I also make a Zotovich Vineyard Syrah for Blair Fox Cellars. These vines are planted in beach sand and the majority of this vineyard is flat, while the days are warm and foggy with very cool nights. It was fermented in a small 1.5-ton fermentor with 30% whole-cluster and 90% whole-berry. It was punched down by hand one to three times per day, basket pressed and aged in older French oak for 16 months prior to being bottled.
