Pinot Noir is one of the most noble grape varietals in the world with the longest history in Burgundy. The Mormann Vineyard is in the Santa Rita Hills and these vines are planted in beach sand. There are very little nutrients and the water is quickly leached from the soils leading to very little vigor but intense flavors and aromas. These grapes were entirely destemmed without being crushed into a small 1 1/2 ton fermentor and foot stomped or punched down during fermentation. This wine was aged in 100% French Oak for 16 months and has gorgeous red and dark fruit aromas and flavors that make it easy to enjoy on its own or pair with salmon or your favorite pork preparation.
